Accompanying a singer

This Thursday, I will be teaching the 2nd part of "Comping & Accompanying". Although this was originally intended to be 1 webinar, there was too much content, so I split them up!

Many of my students say that they have little idea of how to begin accompanying.

For me, accompanying a singer is about:

• Having a solid introduction
• Being supportive in tricky areas
• Sounding like part of the band
• Not overplaying
• Finding spaces to play
• An assertive ending
• Knowing how to play differently on a ballad or a swing tune

We will explore these concepts in real situations, whilst I accompany videos from Arabella and answer your questions live.
